Sabah, Gg. Kinabalu.The holotype of Siculodes ignotalis Röber, 1891:329 is from Sulawesi (Bonerate Is.). The specimen is lost but Whalley (Whalley, 1971b:167, 168, Fig'd) considered that the original illustrations leave no doubt as to the identity of the species. Comb. n. to Canaea (Whalley (1971b). Nec Rhodoneura ignotalis sensu Hampson (1897:618) (misident.) and nec Rhodoneura ignotalis sensu Gaede (1932:755).

Description

38-45mm. A pale yellowish brown species with patchy areas of paler fenestration. The females are slightly larger.

Distribution & Habitat

Sabah, Brunei, Philippines, Sulawesi, Buru. Lowland and lower montane primary forest; <1370m.

Similar spp.

The distribution of the FW fasciation of this species is similar to the males and females of C. ryukyuensis Inoue, 1965 (not illustrated here) and C. semitessellata Walker, [1864] 1863.
