  • Taxonomy


    The type of Sisyrophora cirralis Swinhoe, 1897: 170 is from South Borneo. Shaffer [LepIndex card] suggested a transfer to Palpita Hübner, 1808 but like the LepIndex we treat it in Caprinia Walker, 1859: 543, a genus resurrected by Rose (1982: 60). It is the TS of Caprinia.

  • Description


    Wing Length: 13mm. A silvery white delicate sp.. FW with a dark brown costa and brown patches in the subcostal area. The wings have pale marginal lines with an obvious stigma on the HW. There is sexual dimorphism with males having much longer abdomens and dark anal hair pencils. The male genitalia were illustrated in Rose (1982).
