Taxonomy
The male holotype of Caprinia felderi Lederer, 1863: 401, 478, pl. 13 fig. 18. Lederer (1863: 401) gives the TL of the holotype in the Felder Coll., as Amboina. The lectotype in the NHM with labels Caprinia felderi, p. 401, 478. Holotype, male, Felder collection, with labels: ‘Amboina Doll.’; ‘Amboina Dol’; and ‘Caprinia felderi m.’, the last in. Lederer's hand, was selected by Munroe (1958).

Description
Wing Length: 11.5mm. A distinctive dark chocolate brown and snowy white sp. The brown is restricted to broad sub costal and submarginal areas on the FW and the submarginal area near the apex of the HW. The fringes are chequered in brown and white. The abdomen is white apart from the abdomen tip which in the males is longer and has brown hair pencils. Parts of the head and thorax are also brown.
