Taxonomy
Holotype, Thailand, Chanthaburi. The holotype of Herdonia approximata Inoue, 1993 from Thailand (Chanthaburi), is in the NHM (Mi7446). Genitalia slide #21139. Inoue (1993, 2001).
Description
35mm. A small species for a Herdonia, FW with typical Herdonia patterning. The HW has brown submarginal and median bands and a small brown subbasal line. Very similar to H. osacesalis but separated by smaller wingspan, a slightly paler FW with apical areas more widely white and the forked HW postmedian fascia. Antennal lamellae are as slender as H. hainensis, but shorter. The HW submarginal band has two internal broken black lines and its two median bands diverge near the inner margin.
