Genus Monodecus  Whalley, 1976

Type species: admirandus Whalley (1976:185).

Generic description: Proboscis present. Antennae minutely ciliate. Labial palpi three segmented. Eyes with interfacetal hairs. Hind tarsi with a pair of apical spines, epiphysis on fore tibiae. Radial veins R2-R5 separately from cell. Male genitalia with large socii. Uncus a small recurved process. Sacculus spiny. Juxta membranous. Female with triple frenulum. Ostium lightly sclerotized and bursa without signum.

Monodecus consists of only two named and one unnamed species ranging from Malaysia to Sulawesi (RTS:129). It is eparated from Banisia by its hairy eyes, the very distinctive male genitalia and the female’s lack of a signum.
