Taxonomy
Same specimen as figured in RTS from Brunei. The holotype of Pyralis inductalis Walker, [1866] 1865:1525 from Seram is in the OUMNH. Syn. Hypolamprus peratopis Hampson, 1897:615. Syn. n. Warren (1908: 336).
Description
22-25mm. A coarsely reticulate species with brown and dark brown and pale chequering. The FW apex has a small black spot in a pale patch. There are indications of a median fascia on the FW and an antemedian fascia on the HW. The HW has a small square black spot near the front and a few small elongate black marks.
Distribution & Habitat
Myanmar, Thailand, Sumatra, W. Malaysia, Singapore, Sabah, Brunei, Sarawak, Java, Moluccas, Seram, Timor, PNG, Ferguson Is. Lowland and hill forest; <1200m.
