Taxonomy

Seram, Gg. Kobipoto, Summit Ridge. Striglina sp. 1 is an unnamed series in the NHM (Mi7295), from Sulawesi (Gg. Kobipoto [Muluku, Manusela NP]), caught during Operation Raleigh by Holloway in 1993. Similar to Striglina suzukii Matsumura, 1931 from Japan (not figured here).

Description

42mm. A distinctive, boldly marked, light and dark brown species. It has a large dark orbicular spot and an irregular diagonal dark band from the subapical area of the FW to the middle of the inner edge and continuing as a submedian fascia on the HW. The fringes are pinkish.

Distribution & Habitat

Seram. Lower montane forest; 1470-1500m.
