Taxonomy
The holotype of Cirrhochrista bracteolalis Hampson 1891: 135 pl. 155, fig. 3, from South India, Tamilnadu (Nilgiris) is in the NHM. Not syn. with C. kosemponialis Strand, 1919 which is figured as a syntype by Wang & Speidel (2000: 186, fig.). It was considered a brown suffused var. of kosemponialis by Shibuya 1928 but Yuato in Inoue (1987 108: 44) had reinstated it as a good sp..

Description
Wing length: 14-16mm. A rather dull looking Cirrhochrista sp. FW with suffused brown and fulvous patterning and golden spangles on some fasciae and margins. The underlying pattern is very similar to C. bifurcalis but this sp. has much more brown ground colouration. The HW are white. Wingspan male 33-34mm, female 35-37mm.
