Glaucocharis elegantella; PED 5

  • Taxonomy

The type of Glaucocharis elegantella Shaffer-Gaskin MS* from Brunei, (Bukit Pagon, Ulu Temburong) is in the NHM.

*Gaskin (1985) described 16 new sp. of Glaucocharis but in the NHM there are several other Glaucocharis sp. labeled as holotypes [probably by Shaffer] but we cannot find any publication ref. associated with them. Until this is clarified we are treating those names as Shaffer-Gaskin MS names.

It is crossed by two dark edged pale lines in the antemedian and postmedian areas. A series of short grey-blue lines angle outwards from the FW costa.
