Taxonomy
The holotype of Botys euryphaea Meyrick, 1932, 318 [n.n.f. Botys signatalis Walker, [1866] 1865: 1444] is from the East Indies [Java].
Syn. Botys medullalis Snellen 1898: 180, pl. 8 fig 10. TL W. Java. The male type is in Leiden.
Generic placement is uncertain but here it is provisionally treated in Ategumia Amsel, 1956.
Note Botys signatalis Walker, [1866] 1865: 1444 is a junior secondary homonym of Rhodaria signatalis Walker, [1866] 1865: 1128.
Rose & Pajni (1979: 4) erected of a new genus Rattana with P. euryphaea Meyrick as the TS. This genus is a junior objective syn. of Sciorista Warren, 1890: 475. (Fletcher & Nye, 1984: 133). -
Description
Wing length : 13mm. This yellow and brown moth is very similar to Botyodes diniasalis (Walker 1859). Note that it aso resembles some forms of A. marginalis(Warren, 1896) and other Ategumia spp
