Taxonomy
The holotype of Aulacodes gibbosalis Guenée, 1854: 262 is from Java.
Syn? Oligostigma plicatalis Walker [1866] 1865: 1332. The type from Sulawesi (Makian) is in the UM Oxford. (Note on LepIndex card & Li et al. (2009).
Syn. Oligostigma tripunctalis Walker [1866] 1865: 1531 in Li et al. (2009). Comb. n. to Eoophyla (Shibuya 1929). -
Description
Wing length: 11mm (male) and 18mm (female). A large brownish sp. with orange-brown and paler brown banding. The slightly falcate HW has three tornal eyespots. It can be easily separated from E. cocos Mey 2009 by the FW subapical triangular patch being whitish not brown and the distinctive white subtermenal fascia.

Distribution & Habitat
India (Sikkim), Sabah, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Sumbawa, Sumba, Timor) PNG, Philippines.Taiwan. Lowland & hill forest streams; <1050m. Reported from near the Kinabalu N.P. by Fiedler et al. (2004)
