  The holotype of Parthenodes nigrella Speidel 2003 from the Philippines, Samar, Concord, Cadac-on, is in the MfNH. It is considered that a new genus should be erected for these small dark, elongate-winged spp. of the P. nigra group.

  Description

  
  

  Wing length: 7mm (male) and 8mm (female). A species with a dull brown-grey FW with an indistinct darker discal spot. The males have two indistinct paler fascia crossing the FW. The slightly larger female is darker and the FW is more concolourous with a slightly paler median area. Both sexes have pale grey HW. The male genitalia are similar to most other species of the genus, with two long and several smaller apical setae, about half the length of the valves. Aedeagus comparatively short (Speidel 2003 pl.6, fig. 65). Female genitalia; Ductus bursae very short with a large colliculum, much wider between colliculum and corpus bursae. The ductus seminalis originates from the widened part of the ductus bursae. Corpus bursae slender and elongate (Speidel 2003 pl.11, fig. 92).
  
  The female specimen from Borneo (Schulze (2000) taxon #025), may not be conspecific.
