Taxonomy
The holotype of Mixophyla xanthocasis Meyrick, 1897: 81 is from New Guinea. The paratype in the NHM is from Sulawesi, Sangir.

Description
Wing length: 6mm. This morphotype is an unnamed Gargela series in the NHM with a single sub-termenal black spot which matches exactly the description of G. xanthocasis in Meyrick, (1897). The paratype has three small sub-termenal black spots and no diagonal black line across the FW apex and is best considered as a different sp. See Inoue et al. (1982) Pl. 38 fig. 68 for an additional illustration.

India (S, N), Nepal, Thailand, W.Malaysia, Sabah, Brunei, Kalimantan Selatan, Indonesia (Seram, Sulawesi), PNG, New Ireland, Philippines, China, (W), Taiwan, Japan. Lowland & lower montane; 400 - 1440m.
