Eschata sp. 5 an unnamed morphotype in the FRC (Sepilok) Coll.
Eschata Walker, 1856: 133 is an Oriental genus characterized by reduced chaetosemata, presence of ocelli, wing neuration similar to that in Chilo, a strong pars basalis and often numerous cornuti ; externally the species of Eschata are very distinct, with a shining white FW with two distinct transverse fasciaes. The labial palps are shorter than in most crambines (Bleszynski,1970a). There are several unnamed Eschata spp. in SE Asia. -
Description
Wing length: 17mm. A very distinctive silvery white sp., with two golden fascia and a speckling of black scales on the outer FW. The abdomen is much elongated. See Eschata sp. 1
